Paper Quilling: Butterfly

For the first time I have not done my quilling work directly on paper. I tried to do butterfly wings using pins. And after completing the wings, I have assembled the other parts. I have seen lot of tutorials on net using pins for making leaves and butterflies. So decided to try it out. Not happy with the work, but wanted to share it with all. Here is my quilled butterfly.

  1. Not happy?! You are too harsh on yourself! I love the butterfly, it's almost like a real one. Wonderful use of colors, too!

    Happy Quilling!

  4. This looks amazing!! You should be very proud of it. In fact you should enter it to some competition out there if you are inclined to do so.
I just get an image of a butterfly and keep a cellophane over it, then make the basic shapes and stick one onto the other, over the image just like the instructions on my quilled landscape tutorial.
