Quillography

Hello and welcome to another article on Kalanirmitee.

To create a Quilled Blue flowers, we need following material:
1. Paper base: White Handmade Paper
2. Paper quilling strips: 1.5mm quilling strips are used to make flowers and leaves. For scrolls and letter outline, 5mm green quilling strips are used.

Quilling  Tools:
1. Slotted tool
2. Fine tipped tweezers
3. Scissors
4. Glue
5. Straight pins

Procedure:
1. On Paper, you can draw outline of any letter/alphabet you wish. Size of the letter depends on individual preferences. You can also take printouts of letters.
2. Take a quilling strip and start gluing it on outline of the letter with help of pins.
3. Once it is done. You can fill the letters/alphabets with different quilling techniques like Beehive technique, scrolls, basic quilled shapes and many more.

What is Paper Quilling?

Paper Quilling is an art form that involves the use of strips of paper that are rolled, shaped, and glued together to create decorative designs.

The paper is rolled, looped, curled, twisted and otherwise manipulated to create shapes which make up designs to decorate greetings cards, pictures, boxes, eggs, and to make models, jewelry, mobiles etc. Quilling starts with rolling a strip of paper into a coil and then pinching the coil into shapes that can be glued together. 

There are advanced techniques and different sized paper that are used to create 3D miniatures, abstract art, and quilled flowers among many things.
