Quilled Flower Project

Hello and welcome to another article on Kalanirmitee.

To create a Quilled  flowers, we need following material:
1.Paper base: White Handmade Paper ( size: 10"/4" )
2.Paper quilling strips: 3mm blue quilling strips are used to make flowers. For black center of the flower and green coloured quilled calyx 3mm quilling strips are used.

Quilling  Tools:
1. Slotted tool
2. Fine tipped tweezers
3. Scissors
4. Quilled buddy
5. Glue

Procedure:
1. With the help of quilled buddy( circle), make a circle shape. Fill the circle shape with quilling strips using bee-hive technique. Reshape the circle into petal shape. Assemble the petals to make a flower.
2. Take 3mm green colour quilling strips.Roll it into a grape roll or cone for the flowers calyx.
3. For leaves, shape the basic coil into marquise shape.

What is Paper Quilling?

Paper Quilling is an art form that involves the use of strips of paper that are rolled, shaped, and glued together to create decorative designs.

The paper is rolled, looped, curled, twisted and otherwise manipulated to create shapes which make up designs to decorate greetings cards, pictures, boxes, eggs, and to make models, jewelry, mobiles etc. Quilling starts with rolling a strip of paper into a coil and then pinching the coil into shapes that can be glued together. 

There are advanced techniques and different sized paper that are used to create 3D miniatures, abstract art, and quilled flowers among many things.
